I'm officially scared

Thad came home tonight looking rather grim. My husband is not one of those types of people by nature. He told me that we (I) need to have an evacuation plan. If the river rises as much as they say it will, we could likely lose power. That puts us in a situation where we just can't stay here. As in we would have to leave Moorhead.
We do not have a lake home to go to.
We do not have family near by.
We do not really have anyone that has room for the five of us. (Of course Thad can't leave to be with us.)
If I were to go to a hotel, how can I do it all?
I know I am not losing my home to a flood.
I know that my family is healthy.
I have so much to be grateful for.

But, damn I am getting frightened. The only roads open to leave Moorhead are Hwy 10 or I94.
Please, if you are so inclined, say a prayer. Say it for people fighting for their homes, their pets, their lives.

Oh Bonnie, my heart just breaks for you, and everyone in Moorhead and Fargo who have to go through this. I will continue to pray for your family, and especially for Thad who has spent so many hours helping the city.

You, your kids, and anyone else are ABSOLUTELY welcome to stay with us if you need to.
Seriously.

You have the same offer from us! You are always welcome. Dave and i are glued to the TV and his mom calls a few times a day to keep us updated. We are praying that you and everyone else stays safe!

I wish I could be there to help out in F-M. My prayers are with you all.

My parents got a hotel room in DL and are going to leave for it soon. If you had to figure something out fast maybe a hotel would be an option?

Oh yeah we have thought that. I think the hard part is the kids. I hate to not have faith in them, but a hotel room for four kids is like a warzone waiting to happen.
Anyway Thad is a little less stressed right now. I think he hears way more than the general public.

Bonnie, I totally get it. Two kids is hard alone, but 4 on your own In a hotel room? That would be so beyond stressful. I hope it doesn't come to that and will keep praying for everyone still there. Its hard to leave, but hard to be there as well :)
