Guess where I am going?

In eleven days, Mr. Brady and I are headed to Phoenix to have a girls weekend with Melissa and Elli! Elli, Melissa, and I have been friends since junior high. We have been in each others' weddings, gone through boyfriends, breakups, and just about everything you can imagine. I love these two like crazy. We are staying with Melissa's parents (aka: Vick and Jim) who have a beautiful home in Phoenix. There is a gorgeous pool, a beautiful view of south mountain, and room for us all. Not to mention that Vick and Jim are like a second set of parents who happen to make me laugh like crazy. Seriously, I can't tell you how excited I am to have our old gang back...

This is a first for me. However due to the events in the last couple of months, we decided it was important to hangout, soak up some sun, and just relax together. I told the girls that I would have to bring Brady. I can't leave a little (wait: HUGE) three and a half month old. Plus, I am still nursing so obviously he is almost literally a part of me. I was concerned about having a baby in Elli's face the whole time, but she swore she was fine with it. Both girls have toddlers, so I think all they want is a little away time from that madness.

Unfortunately I can't find pictures right now of the three of us either. Go figure!

PS: Thank you to all of you for your eczema advice. I am currently using lanolin on his patches to block the itching, scratching, and scabbing. It's gross. I am going pretty much milk free to see what happens. The funny thing is, I have never been a milk person. So if it is milk, it's a good thing I don't really care for it anyway!

Yea! I am so excited for you. I don't know which part is more exciting, the going to Phoenix part where its warm or the hanging out with your friends part!

Love the new background, how fun!

I remember once upon a time when I was part of this friend group....

You're totally right about getting together as a positive event. I have learned in the past few years that as we get older we tend to only see eachother when we have to (which is usually not the best) vs. getting together because we WANT to (for something positive and fun!).

That is the exact reason I'm going to FL next week. To make the effort to see loved ones in times of HAPPINESS!!

Give that Elli girl an extra huge squeeze from me!

AJ we all have a lot of good memories don't we? Wow we really do. Honestly I think I am the most nostalgic person around...

You are so lucky to have such a tight core of longtime girlfriends. I think it's so fitting that Brady will be a little jet-setter with mommy before he's even 6 months old!

Have fun, Bonnie. I'm a post late, but wanted to comment on the excema.

Isabelle doesn't have excema, but does have kertosis pilaris on her arms, less, and occassionally her face. She has had it for about a year and a half and I have finally found something that works. I swear I'm not trying to sell our store, but it is a product we are selling here now and it's made by a mom in Fargo. It is all natural, super greasy, and the best thing ever. We use it twice a day and her skin as almost cleared up.

Also, on the dairy note, I think I would eliminate as well as see if that helps. I'm fairly positive that Isabelle had a dairy allergy when I was nursing. Looking back it is clear that is probably what was wrong, but unfortunately i didn't realize it at the time and tortured the poor thing for a year. :(

Hope you have a great time - and hope Brady skins clears up!

Hey- I am late too. Evan has had the same problem since birth. He is actually on a prescription lotion with a tiny bit of sterroid added. I only use it when it's really bad. His is for sure a dairy allergy. He did fine on soy milk and yogurt, but will no longer take it. I need to connect with Kris to get that product she mentioned. Oh, and we stayed at the mirage.

Does anyone know if soy milk is safe for me to consume? I don't like it, but I would do it for him.
Also, I am still eating a yogurt a day. Hopefully it won't affect him. His skin is clearing up very well, but it also could be the natural products I ordered online.....since I pump, I assume he is drinking milk from last week. It's all quite fascinating.
Jenay: We haven't stayed at the Mirage. We are really debating where to stay this summer....the girls want a nice pool. Thad wants a foodcourt to save money. We will see.
