...I could use your input. We are planning on going again this summer. I think we have narrowed down our list of places we are debating between. If you have stayed at these, please kindly list your pros/cons, etc.
Here are the factors that our group in most interested in:
--location, number of restaurants/food court, low roller tables (read: $5 or so), and pool.
1. Mandalay Bay--I know of the pool being a MAJOR pro. I feel the location is a con.
2. Caesars Palace--Exactly how huge is this place? I have done MGM...took a few days to get my bearings there. Thoughts, opinions, advice?
3. Mirage--Good location, pool looks nice, etc.
4. Monte Carlo--We have stayed here. There is a great rate, no complaints from us, but it's always fun to try a new hotel.
We have previously stayed at: MGM, Monte Carlo, Harrahs, and Paris

I can only speak for the mirage. The only time the tables were below $10/hand was 8-10am. Loved the hotel, the rooms were AMAZING! The bed and the bedding were so luxurious. We loved being in the middle of the strip too. The pool was not overly impressive at all; in fact it looked small to me. The restaurants were very Asian inspired. They were two Japanese restaurants, one Asian Steak House, a Brazilian Steak House, a fabulous burger joint & California Pizza kitchen. Then there was a cafe, coffee shop & buffet. But the highlight of the Mirage was the Beatles Lounge and seeing Love.
Is that Beatles Lounge free? It looks VERY cool on the website....wow!
Sorry Bonnie-been to Vegas once two years ago. Stayed at the Flamingo-yes the Flamingo but it was free. I was there for literally 72 hours and pretty sure I only walked around the pool but it was actually decent from what I can remember? I say go big or go home-luxury room, good bedding, etc. You deserve it!
We only lived about 6 hours from Vegas when we lived in Idaho and made many, many trips :) The 3 we continually go back to are the MGM, the Mirage and Caesars. The Mirage definitely has great rooms and just thinking about the fruity tropical scent that they infuse throughout makes you feel transported to some other place. We've always wanted to try the Bellagio, but never find the best deals there. And if you do try Mandalay Bay let me know, the pool DOES sound amazing.
Mirage has a great pool - not as good as Mandelay Bay. Mirage is a great location where as the Bay is at the end so if you want to get around you'll have to cab it. Ceasar's is nice - good shopping/clubs. You'll have fun regardless of where you stay! Amy
Bonnie - if you're looking for an awesome pool and nice rooms, have you ever thought about Downtown? The golden Nuggets pool is spectacular and I felt that the rooms were very comfortable. They also have an awesome Steakhouse (Vic & Anthony's) and a good cafe for morning breakfasts. There were also some neat restuarnats down Fremont Street and you should be able find lower limits for gambling downtown in general. The drinks seemed a little cheaper there too. We stayed there 2 years ago and I would definitly stay there again. Just an idea.... Otherwise the Mirage rooms were spectacular! Good luck and make sure to have lots of fun.

Oh I love all this! The smell of EVERY hotel in Vegas is amazing..that is when you walk in to the lobby. Ah forget it, I love the smokey smell too. It just reminds me of the fun, gambling, and my grandma who smoked.
Enough. Well we did book at Monte Carlo b/c it was $41/night. We can cancel at anytime and book anywhere. The Mirage sure might be another place to try! Thanks guys! I definitely plan to try to go to LOVE too. That lounge looked so cool!
What site do you book your vacations through? I'm trying to get to Anchorage really cheap...
Emily I am a travel spaz. So, for Vegas I have found the most information at Fatwallet.com
If you go to forums at the top of the page, then click on where it says travel deals, you could find it. Not sure about Anchorage. My guess is try expedia, then when you see what it costs out of Fargo, go to the direct website. I feel that airlines are as cheap on their own site if not better....hope that helps!
